These are the ideas that started Robotics Roadshow.
“Can we drive the robot?"
This was the question we heard at every demonstration, or demo, we hosted. We showed kids our robot and taught them about FIRST, but we realized it wasn't interactive enough. Students didn't want to watch STEAM, they wanted to be a part of it. So, in 2017, the members of our team came up with a solution: an interactive demo where students can drive a robot safely. After this base was formed, we built upon it. Not only is Roadshow interactive, it's scalable. We can specially chose the size of our robot and field depending on the venue. The Idea
Going Further
The scalability of Roadshow has opened up many opportunities, as we come to large venues like our local baseball stadium, and smaller venues like the Lancaster Community Center. To make this even more memorable for students, we started giving out Robot Driver's Licenses, complete with the student's picture and name. Now students walk away from our demos with a unique experience and a fun memento.
