Partnerships & Fundraising
Fundraising is important for robotics teams because it helps cover costs like parts, tools, and competition fees, allowing the team to fully participate and succeed. Team-wide fundraisers are especially helpful because they let everyone contribute, making the process more collaborative while building teamwork and shared responsibility.
Fundraising
Getting in contact with partners is always something a team should do. Sponsors can help with funding, making parts, and getting help in other aspects. Partnerships like these are what spurs a team’s growth.
Partnerships
-
Reaching out to sponsors can come in many forms, ranging from community events, connections from members, or sending out emails.
-
Creating a universal flyer helps outline the benefits sponsors receive when supporting a team. These benefits should be fair, clear, and easy to understand when deciding how much support to request.
Common examples include placing sponsor logos on team gear and robots, featuring sponsors on the team website, and highlighting new sponsors in newsletters.
-
Our team runs food fundraisers to support our outreach programs, like the Eaglets program and Eggstronaut kits. Funds raised go directly back into these initiatives, helping cover materials and event costs. We partner with local spots and fast-food chains, including Raising Cane’s, Panda Express, and Vince’s Pasta & Pizza, to engage the community while raising money for STEM education.
-
In addition to food fundraisers at local restaurants, we also raise funds by selling treats at school events. Recently, we started selling deep-fried Oreos at events like Back to School Night, the Fall Festival, and Winter Wonderland, giving students and families a fun way to support our team while enjoying a tasty treat.
